Editor urgently needed
for The Turkish Area Studies Review

The Turkish Area Studies Review is the bulletin of the Turkish Area Study Group. It is published in spring and autumn, and each issue is up to 50 pages long, consisting of articles on a wide variety of subjects – current events in Turkey, history, literature, politics, book reviews, synopses of the Annual Lecture and Annual Symposium talks, etc. The Review is now looking for a new Editor and urgently needs the help of TASG members in this search.

An efficient infrastructure already exists for the compilation and physical production of the Review, in the form of an Editorial Team, an Editorial Advisory Panel, and assembling and printing facilities. There is also a core of regular contributors.

The new Editor will

  • ideally be a person connected in some way with Turkish Studies
  • be keen to promote a better knowledge of Turkey’s present and past in the UK (and elsewhere)
  • concentrate on editorial material, on eliciting contributions, and on giving the Review a sense of unity and cohesion bearing in mind the strong back-up mentioned above.

If you think that you yourself might have something to offer in this attractive honorary role, or you know of someone whom you believe might be suitable, please contact through this website. Any communications on this subject will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Note: If anyone interested, or thought to be interested, does not have access to the Review, a copy  of a past number can be made available upon request.
